This year\, the following neighborhood schools are looking forward to benefiting from donations from both runners' registration and their community's sponsors: \n \n\nChicago Friends School\n\nChicago Waldorf School\n\nFamilies Together Cooperative Nursery School\n\nGoudy Elementary\n\nHayt Elementary\n\nMcCutcheon Elementary\n\nPeirce Elementary\n\nRickover Naval Academy\n\nSenn High School\n\nSwift Elementary\n\nSacred Heart Schools\n\nNorthside Catholic Academy\n\nSt. Thomas of Cantebury\n\nFamilies Together Cooperative Nursery School\n \n\nThe chamber anticipates 800 community members\, running enthusiasts\, students\, parents and local business owners participating in the Edgewater 5k race. The event's sponsors hail from fitness and educational corners including Orange Shoe Personal Fitness\, Andersonville Physical Therapy\, Orange Theory Fitness\, Athletico - Devon\, Loyola University Chicago\, Alderman Harry Osterman and Sacred Heart Schools. Local businesses interested in supporting Edgewater's schools should consider sponsorship opportunities. Edgewater residents and residents from neighboring neighborhoods are welcome to sign up and volunteer to help with the race as well online.\n \n\nThe Edgewater 5k is open to the general public\, local residents\, students and parents alike. Register online now (starting at $35 before August 31) to participate in the race\, help boost neighborhood spirit and give back to your community's schools. In addition to the 5k\, this year the Edgewater Chamber added a special Kids' Race ($5) for children ages 3-5 to also have the chance to join in on the fun after the 5k wraps up. Not to be missed\, the popular Mascot Race is returning as part of the post race activities. \n \n\n"The fifth annual 5k is the only opportunity to run down Sheridan Rd in Edgewater.
