DESCRIPTION:Uptown Church and Uplift Community High School partner twice a year to host a public conversation for the neighborhood. Our Fall 2019 topic is Urban Revitalization. Uptown is experiencing quite a bit of change right now. Buzzwords used in many discussions around these shifts in the neighborhood are: gentrification\, urban renewal\, redevelopment\, and displacement.\n\n \n\nThis discussion will feature a diverse panel of powerful and intelligent voices that help us address these issues we face as a community. \n\n \n\nOur panel for the evening includes:\n\n \n\nJosh McGee\n\nReporter\, Chicago Reporter\n\n \n\nMartin Sorge\n\nExecutive Director\, Uptown United\n\n \n\nCarolina Sternberg\n\nAssociate Professor and Chair\, Latino and Latin American Studies\, DePaul University\n\n \n\nCynthia Roubik\n\nAssistant Commissioner\, Dept. of Planning and Development\, City of Chicago\n\n \n\nJoin us for this free event as we seek out ways to come together and strengthen our city.
